one big argument was all it took/you left/i always thought you would be back/

i loved you from the beginning/ when we said till death do us part/i meant it

life was so hard/never enough money/or time to spend together/we worked so hard/never as a team/always apart

the arguments were always there / we could never agree/you had so many secrets/that you couldn’t keep

still/i hoped and i prayed/i cried and got mad at God and myself

you tell me you have a girlfriend now/and you are really happy/you make her lasagna/our favorite dinner

i saw the roses you buy each other/you told me Valentine’s day was stupid

the house is so empty/the doors are all closed/our daughter’s heart is broken/she runs to the window when a truck drives by

life looks so empty now

still, I wish you the best

if only we could have grown old together/like all the rest
