Living in today’s world it’s pretty hard to keep yourself from not idolizing something.

As you scroll through social media there’s all types of reels and posts about cars, cosmetic procedures, vacations, etc.

I myself started dreaming the other day while watching a lady dressed to the hilt in her Manolo Blahnik heels getting into her Rolls Royce Spectre. (Of course you have to take off those heels before getting in the car to drive).

What did she do for a living? What would it feel like to drive a car like that, and how would it feel to get all kinds of attention when you drove it? I could only imagine…

1 John 5:21

Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

Maybe you desire a marriage, another prophetic word, rich food, extreme preoccupation with your cell phone (do you wake up and give God thanks, or reach for your cell phone first?) Maybe it’s obsession with your body image, or to be rich and famous.

Sometimes those things can become idols as well if you are so focused on them and those things come before the Lord.

Exodus 34:14

(for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God),

How would you feel if you went to give your significant other a hug and they said “Hold up, I need to check my cellphone before I can talk to you?…” It wouldn’t feel good.

The Lord wants and desires all of us, body, soul and spirit and He is worthy.

Lord, I pray we can give you our undivided attention because You are worthy to be praised. We thank You Lord for everything you are doing for us and every good thing You have already done for us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
